Ball mill girth gear (big gear ring) together with matching pinion gear constitute the core transmission gear pair for cement ball mill. The pinion transfers torque and drives girth gear to rotate the mill shell continuously under heavy‑load working condition.
Most large‑diameter girth gears adopt two‑half split bi‑part design, connected by joint flange bolts. Split‑type structure solves limits of casting, over‑size transportation and on‑site installation. Small‑size units can also adopt integral one‑piece girth gear according to drawing requirements.
Girth gear material: high‑strength cast steel ZG42CrMo / ZG35CrMo. Pinion gear adopts forged alloy steel 42CrMo, quenched and tempered for high surface hardness, anti‑wear and anti‑fatigue performance. Precise tooth hobbing processing guarantees smooth meshing and low vibration.
